LUNA EVENT FAQ

Why is a tool kit not provided with a Luna Method ticket?

At Luna & Mauve, we are dedicated to promoting eco-friendliness. We recognize that as artists, many of you likely possess the majority of the required tools for extensions. To minimize waste and lessen our environmental footprint, we've chosen to supply you with links to Ashlee's top-recommended tools instead. This allows you to acquire only what you're missing, supporting our shared goal of making a positive impact on the environment, no matter how small.

How much extension experience do I need to take a class?

At the Luna Method we have two different experience-level classes. Newbies training for artists with less than one year of traditional hand-tied experience, and experience artist classes for artists with a one year plus of traditional hand-tied experience. However, we have allowed artists with lesser experience levels to attend the experience levels trainings. With that, they have higher expectations during their pre-training to make sure that they are fully prepared for their training experience.

Why is pre-training mandatory?

Pre-training is mandatory for a couple of reasons.

  1. We want you to have as much practice as possible before class. That way you have a solid foundation before attending. We want you to get the most out of your investment!

  2. This allows the Luna training team to see what possible issues you are having and how we can help you best in person.

What is the process of pre-training?

Pre-training consists of 30 days.  Students will gain access to the Luna online training videos. Students will thoroughly review each video and take any tests associated with the video on the educational site. The tests are not graded by trainers (so don’t stress!), they are there to increase knowledge and skill for the students to prepare them for their first installation.

Upon completion of watching videos, students must complete four doll head installs to be submitted to trainers for feedback. The pre-training ends two weeks prior to the class.

We take your investment in us seriously and we want to make sure that you make the absolute most of it!

FAQ

Can Luna be done on curly clients?

Absolutely, the Luna Method can be customized for all textures!

Is Luna only for fine-haired clients?

No, the Luna Method is for all hair types. The flat corners make it really great for fine and thin-haired clients.

Doesn’t stitching into the hair that’s in the bead cause damage!?

I know that’s how it can seem, but no! The placement of the beads not only keep the hair in natural fall but also prevent any of the hair from being pulled tight and causing pain or damage.

How long does it take to do Luna?

Timing is subject to change based on your experience level and the type of appointment that you offer. On average, our experienced artists take 35 minutes to an hour to install a row.
